“Everything happens for a reason.” I used to tell myself this all the time growing up. I can’t remember why any longer, but I do remember saying this often. Another thing that was lost to me, but recently rediscovered. I even had it on my Facebook profile as one of my favorite quotes. It may still be on there.
Waking up to spirituality loves to constantly remind us that everything we experience and see happens for a higher reason. This is true in even the smallest of things. For example, a lot of things, cultures, and hobbies I took up or had a seemingly random attraction to resonated with me on a soul level, which is why I was drawn to them. I came to learn also that everything that has happened in my life, traumatic or otherwise, occurred specifically to bring me to where I am right now.
When you truly accept this truth, and surrender to it, you begin to see this even more. As I opened up to this, I realized I started to see the reasons even as I was still living within the experience. To illustrate this, currently, I have been in a situation that’s unsafe and extremely difficult for me to be in for the past three months or so, but even as I’ve been here, I’ve learned there are reasons for it. I grew up with relatives and ‘friends’ that never understood me, that always used and manipulated me, and kept me around just to abuse my kind, nurturing energy. I lived away from here for eight years, but upon returning to my dad’s house, it was quickly pointed out that being away hadn’t helped me to build up my healthy boundaries and learn to assert them. It was more like I ran away from my problems. I was guided to return here, in order to learn that I am allowed to take up space, that I do matter, that it is necessary for me to protect myself, because no one else can do it for me. My relatives and ‘friends’ expected me to come back here and be the people-pleasing, easy-to-use person I was in the past. But I have self-respect now, and the ability to stand up for my boundaries. I know I deserve to be treated better. I can see, even while still in this situation, that I had to return here. I had to strengthen my boundaries, and know that I deserve happiness myself, instead of always tending to other people’s happiness. I remember when I realized this was why I was sent back here, that I was so incredibly happy with myself. It was the first time I defended myself against my relatives. It didn’t change how they see me or how they treat me, but I defended myself anyway, and I loved myself for it. Returning here also gave me the time and rest needed to overcome the deeper, more difficult shadows, because I haven’t found a job yet and had more time on my hands to devote my sparce energy to only my awakening and nothing else. I put myself first. There is a higher reason for everything.
The most fascinated signs and synchronicities for me though are the ones I found through hobbies and cultural practices I picked up throughout the years. After the worst of my traumas, I signed up for a voice class to incorporate some much needed fun into my college experience. As I looked at the syllabus, I saw the list of songs we’d be singing, and got on Youtube to listen to them. One was Danny Boy, and as I searched it, I found the Celtic Woman rendition of it. I wound up loving it, and from then on have listened to and loved Celtic music. I expanded out to learn the history and mythology of the Celts and other cultural practices. I mean, this seemingly random way I came across Celtic stuff turned out to have such a significant reason. I found out about a year and a half ago that my original form on this planet was a significant Celtic figure. It blew my mind! And it also made so much sense! And not only this, but I also became drawn to Greek, Chinese, Norse, and Egyptian mythologies and cultural practices, only to find I also had significant past lives in each of these cultures as well. This was all because my soul remembered these lives, and is still connected to them.
As a kid (up until even now), I used to see the number 11 and multiples of 11 everywhere. Literally everywhere. I remember getting curious as to why as I was high school age, and these number signs in tandem with a book series I was reading at the time, I eventually was guided to the term “twin flames” in my senior year of high school. I thought the topic and the idea of it was utterly fascinating—and had my suspicions—but I didn’t really think it possible to be a thing for me. Welp, wrong. I also learned last year who my twin flame was. Turns out I knew the person growing up, which is why I saw all the signs back then, and was led to the information. 11:11 is a symbol for twin flames. This is also because 11:11 in an appropriate font is a mirror image of itself, and another name for ‘twin flames’ is “Mirrored Souls”. This is a very fitting term for it because just like with the 11:11 symbol, at a soul level everything from feelings, fears, insecurities, and inner child wounds are all mirrored between you. Your twin is your mirror reflection. I’ll write an article later that discusses this and soul mates in detail. But back to the point, there was a reason I saw 11:11 everywhere as a kid/teenager, and why I was guided to that information specifically when I learned it.
Another possibility with seeing number patterns everywhere is because number patterns is one way your spirit guides (or angels) communicate with you. If you see 444 or 111 or another combination, it’s worth googling the meaning of the number combination. It’s likely a sign from your guides.
If you’re seeing specific animals repeatedly, or seem to connect with certain animals, it’s possible these animals could be spirit animals sent to guide you or help you with something at hand. It’s also possible they could be your animal totems—which are animals that are symbolic representations of your soul, like a coat of arms. For example, I have four animals that represent my own soul: the raccoon, the octopus, the doe (yes, specifically the female deer only), and the rabbit. I’ve even seen these animal personalities within manifest within my own life. A third possibility you could connect to certain animals, is that you could be a starseed that is represented by that animal. I’m aware of two of my starseed origins, and both are associated with animal-like features. One, I am a Lyran starseed, known for the appearance of cats and associated with founding ancient Egypt—whose mythology included deities depicted as having the heads of cats (Bastet, Anubis, etc.). Two, my oldest and first origin is an Avian starseed, specifically Blue Avian starseed. As you can guess, Avian starseeds have bird-like qualities. They are known for having an acute eye for detail, can easily see from birds-eye perspective, crave soul freedom above all else, and are highly intelligent. Those close to me will say I have these qualities. I remember sitting at work one day discussing with my two coworkers what animal we would be if we could, and I said I’d be a bird. No such thing as coincidences. You can research the various starseeds yourself to see if any resonate with you.
If you hear messages in songs and television shows, you could be clairaudient. This was probably why listening to Celtic music and music of the cultures I mentioned previously drew me in and connected me to the cultures. Hearing or seeing messages like these, can mean you have psychic gifts. If you see messages in dreams, you could be clairvoyant. I will write an article another time that goes more into detail for psychic gifts and abilities.
Ultimately, no matter how small or insignificant something may seem at the time, there is always a reason for everything. All will be revealed to you as it is meant to. Hopefully, you’ll be able to see these signs more clearly. simply remember to be open-minded, as not everything is as it seems.
